In order to meet the informational and educational needs of our community, the Waverly Community Library provides computers for public use including word processing, printing and Internet access.

A library card is not required to use the computers. Computers are available on a first come first serve basis for an unlimited time. If guests are waiting, time will be limited to 30 minutes.

The Internet content is not filtered. Please remember that the Library is a public place and other computer users, patrons or staff members can see the Internet sites you have visited. The Library does not guarantee privacy. The Library staff will not supervise Internet sessions of any patron, regardless of age.

Children 7 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult when using the Internet.
Parents or guardians, not the library or its staff, are responsible for the Internet information accessed by their children.

Many sources on the Internet provide inaccurate, unauthoritative, false or incomplete information. It provides access to information that may be personally offensive, including sexually explicit materials, and materials which may be illegal. The Library is not responsible for any of the Internet’s content or accuracy of information, and those who use it do so at their own risk.

Personal CDs and flash drives may be used on the library computers. Installing or modifying software is prohibited. Users with their own wireless enabled devices can access the Internet via a wireless access point provided by the library. The access is not secure. No printer is provided to wireless users.

Users will respect the privacy of other users and will refrain from attempting to view or read material being used by others.

Misuse or illegal use of the Library’s computer resources will result in the loss of patron computer privileges. Such behavior may include destruction or damage to equipment, unauthorized copying or transmittal of copyright protected data, harassing, libeling, or slandering of others, accessing unlawful material, or conducting illegal activity.  Any illegal usage involving Library resources may subject the patron to prosecution by local, state or federal officials.

The Library will not release information on public use of the Internet except as required by law.
