Library Use privileges:
This policy strives to find a balance between providing quality circulation services to library customers and meeting standards of accountability in circulation transactions.

Within the library facility itself, the use of all reference books, magazines, other books, and public computers is free to all. There is a charge for printing from patron computers.

Service to library patrons will not be denied or abridged because of gender, age, religion, race, social, economic, or political status.

Library Cards-Registration:
An unrestricted library card is required to borrow materials and is available to anyone wishing to use the library. City residence is not required.

Current address or phone number or such information for a local contact person must be provided on the registration form to obtain a library card. All members of a household may have their own card. If the registrant is a minor under 17 years of age, a parent or guardian must be present to sponsor the minor borrower. Adults are responsible for items borrowed on their card and parents or guardians are responsible for items borrowed on the cards of minors.

Checkout and Renewal Privileges:
Individual cardholders may borrow up to ten items from the library at one time.

Library materials may be checked out for three weeks, with one three-week renewal period.

The library will not deny checkout privileges on circulating materials to any borrower in good standing.  This means that children will not be denied the right to borrow adult materials.

Overdue Charges, Fines and Fees:
The Library will not charge overdue fees.

Fees will be charged for materials lost or damaged beyond repair. Charges will be based on the replacement value of the item.

Patrons with charges for un-returned or damaged materials will not be allowed to check out until the item is returned or paid for. Patrons that pay for damaged item(s) that must be replaced may keep the item(s). No refunds will be given for lost items once paid for.

A lost fee will be assessed for any item that is over thirty days overdue, unless special arrangements have been made.
